FDA Flaws Put You at Risk

I just finished the previous post last night. Got up early, headed for the airport for a flight to Las Vegas, NV.  On the way I purchased the New York Times. On Page A12 the headline reads, “Advisers Say F.D.A.’s Flaws Put Lives at Risk.” So, it’s much worse than I thought; probably much worse than anyone thought. It states that the nation’s food supply is at risk because FDA is short of money, poorly organized say their own agency’s advisers. Of course, what government agency isn’t poorly funded or poorly organized. It goes on to state that the FDA cannot keep up with scientific advances which means that American lives (that’s short for you) are at risk. The report claimed its purpose was to raise an alarm about how little oversight the FDA really provides. So there you have it folks. Eat at your own risk. The fact is, the FDA expects us to rely on the good will of the food producers to keep us safe. As I was told a long time ago, “when it comes to money, people do strange things.” Just because you don’t die from eating the food tomorrow, doesn’t mean it isn’t harming you.

I guess I need to hurry up my purchase of the AeroGarden and hope someone is working on a home abattoir kit. Being a vegetarian just isn’t me. In the meantime, with winter setting in, there is little to munch on other than what the supermarket offers. Soon I’ll tell you about the Tomato Tree as seen on TV that I purchased.
